Charitable Donations

At Little Monsters,  we strive to support local nonprofit organizations and causes. In particular we focus our giving to supporting childrens' programs and art education. The most common form of donation we provide is "Monster Money", with a face value in the store, plus a percentage of purchases made over and above this amount given back to the requesting organization. This program is most successfull when the requesting organization promotes it within their membership.

We evaluate applications based on the following guidelines:

1. The application must be received at least 4 weeks before the “pick up” date in order to be considered. Because the Donations Budget is limited, early submission of your application is recommended. Extra lead time would be appreciated during peak times (holidays, graduations).
 
2. The organization must fall into one of the categories Little Monsters supports:

Childrens' Programs

Arts and Education

Green Initiatives

 
3. We do not donate to individuals, individuals seeking pledges, multiple requests from the same organization or organizations and/or causes outside of the area. Past support of an organization or an event is not a guarantee of future support.

4. We encourage electronic submissions rather than mailed requests. Please email your request with all required documentation to: monsterstaff@yahoo.com

Neither phone nor walk-in requests will be granted. If you must mail a paper request, please send it to:

5. With your request, please include:
 a. Information about the project and the agency including programs, needs, goals, and the percentage of donation applied to administrative costs, as well as tax exempt status & ID.
 b. How the proceeds will be used
 c. List of other major sponsor

6. Expect a response within 30 days of our receipt of your request.
 
Although we would like to support every worthwhile cause, due to the volume of applications, it is not possible for LITTLE MONSTERS to fulfill every request.



In 2011, Little Monsters donated over $2000 to TOYS for TOTS

TOYS FOR TOTS MISSION:
The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

OBJECTIVES:
The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.
